Norsk Lithium Heated batteries have internal heating pads that are installed between the cells to raise the internal temperature when charging below freezing. When you connect your charger and the battery temperature is under 32° Fahrenheit or 0° Celsius, your current will be diverted to the heating pads, increase the internal temperature of the battery to a safe level and then proceed with a charging cycle. If you are trying to charge in temperatures under 32° Fahrenheit or 0° Celsius, you will need a heated battery.
