I am looking to get a lithium battery for 2 of my graphs on a boat. Would the 14.8v30ah battery be the appropriate battery to run one Humminbird Helix 12″ and a Garmin Echomap 126sv with livescope LVS34? If not could you please point me in the direction of the battery that I might want. It does not need to be portable, it will stay in my boat full time.
Asked by Andrew H. in North Carolina
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerBased on your electronics and the LVS34 transducer, your total amp draw is approximately 6.5A according to manufacturer specifications. Given that setup, my recommendation is a 16v 75ah battery for powering your electronics. With that configuration, you can expect roughly 14 hours of runtime. A 14.8v 30ah battery would provide a shorter runtime, estimated at around 5-6 hours.
The 16v 75ah battery operates at a higher voltage, and many users report improved graph clarity when running higher-voltage systems. In addition, it offers approximately 20 percent longer runtime compared to a standard 12v battery, making it the best overall option for your application.

Should I leave my norsk battery charger plugged in for the winter?
Asked by Charles D. in Minnesota
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerIt’s not recommended to leave your Norsk Lithium battery charger plugged in or keep your battery connected to the charger during winter storage. Once your battery is charged to about 50–60%, disconnect it from the charger and store it in a cool, dry place.
Your Norsk Lithium battery includes a Deep Sleep feature that cuts all voltage to the terminals and helps preserve the state of charge (SOC) while in storage. To prepare your battery for storage, charge it to around 50–60% and activate the Deep Sleep mode. This can be done either by holding the top power management button until three lights illuminate, or through the Norsk Guardian App.
When you’re ready to use the battery again, you can wake it from Deep Sleep using the Norsk Guardian App or with a single press of the top power management button.
More information on Deep Sleep can be found here: https://norsklithium.com/deep-sleep-advanced-battery-storage/

What size fuse should be used when connecting two 36V 60AH Norsk Lithium marine batteries in parallel for my trolling motor?
Asked by Mason M. in South Dakota
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerNorsk Lithium recommends the installation of a fuse block on the positive terminal of each 36V 60AH battery wired in parallel to provide individual circuit protection for each battery, preventing significant damage in case of a short circuit or fault within one battery wired in the parallel configuration. A sample of the recommended fuse block and the 150A 58V fuse can be found on page 16 of our Marine product manual.

Should I use a battery maintainer while storing my Norsk Lithium marine battery?
Asked by Justin R. in Arkansas
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerThe use of a battery charge maintainer, often referred to as a “float charger”, is NOT RECOMMENDED by Norsk Lithium for use with lithium batteries. Using a maintainer that constantly tops off a battery’s SOC can cause metal plating within the cells that will significantly reduce the lifespan of the lithium battery. Because Norsk Lithium Marine Batteries have an incredibly low passive-discharge rate (<3% per month in normal operation mode) a battery maintainer for long-term storage is unnecessary. Any damage caused by the use of a battery charge maintainer IS NOT covered by warranty.
