  If the mode button on your Evo-Tec On-Board Charger isn’t switching between voltages, you can try resetting the charger by following these steps:

  1. Disconnect the charger from the outlet.

  2. Remove the positive (+) fuse from your desired bank on your Evo-Tec charger.

  3. Reconnect your Evo-Tec charger to the outlet.

  4. Select your desired mode on your Evo-Tec charger using the mode button.

  5. Reinsert the positive (+) fuse into the charger lead.

  Please confirm the charger being used is compatible with lithium batteries, you can check using our Charger Compatibility List.

  If using a Norsk Lithium Evo-Tec On-Board Charger, ensure you select the correct mode on the charger, Ex: 12V/16V mode, and Lithium mode.

  This is absolutely normal, during the charging process your Evo-Tec On-Board Charger will create heat and may become warm to the touch. This does not indicate an issue with the battery or charger and will not damage either item.

  A waterproof cooling fan is installed outside the charger. When the bottom aluminum stretched plate’s temperature is higher than or equal to 50℃ ±5℃ (122°F ±9°F), the fan will work. When the bottom aluminum stretched plate’s temperature is lower than or equal to 40℃ ±5℃ (104°F ±9°F), the fan stops working.

  If the Evo-Tec On-Board Charger reaches a temperature that is too high for proper function it will engage the Over Temperature Protection Function. When the temperature of the radiator inside the charger is more than or equal to 80℃ ±5℃ (176°F ±9°F), the charger will automatically reduce the output current for overtemperature protection. When the internal temperature drops, the charging current will gradually increase and finally recover to max output.

  To reset your BMS, you will need to hold the power management button on the top of the Norsk Lithium Marine battery until all 4 lights illuminate which will be about 20-30 seconds. After the lights flash, the battery management system will reset itself and should be functional again in about one minute.
