Lithium Batteries Engineered for the Roughest Conditions
Hey everybody PJ Vick here, co-host of In-Depth Outdoors TV and owner of Great Lakes Angling. We’re just wrapping up our first season out here on Lake Erie and let me tell you it has been a phenomenal season.
We have had limit catches almost every single day out. The clients have been very happy. This lake is in the greatest shape ever with an estimated population of 100 million walleyes out here on the lake; adult walleyes that is. Even more when you factor in all the up and comers. The last three out of four years have been all-time record hatches.
You know, I’ve got clients that fly in and drive in from all over the country and they put their trust in me that they’re going to come out here, they’re going to get out safe, they’re going to come back in safe and we’re going to go out there and we’re going to catch walleyes. So with that being said I need my electronics to work day in day out through rough conditions. I’m making long runs 15 to 20 miles especially in the summer months here. Oftentimes you know it’s the Great Lakes you deal with big waves; five to eight footers. So this year I am running Norsk Lithium batteries on my 36 volt system and I’m running Norsk Lithium in the back to power all my other accessories and electronics.
Why I Chose Norsk Lithium
A couple of the things that I like about these Norsk Lithiums:
Weight Savings – These 100AH batteries are 25 pounds; your lead-acid battery goes anywhere from 50 to 70 pounds. At the end of the day what that means for me with these long runs is I’m saving money on gas big time and I’m taking a large weight load out of this boat which allows me to run these big waves much more efficiently.
Longevity – These batteries have a 10 year warranty on them and a lead-acid battery with the use that we’re putting into it you’re talking about two years max. So that’s five change cycles that I don’t have to worry about. So the initial investment it’s a little bit more but in the long run you’re saving time you’re saving money.
Dependability – I need everything to work flawlessly when I’m making these long runs and have these customers putting all their trust in me to get out on the water and have everything work flawlessly so I can focus on my clients and give them the experience they deserve.
For all those reasons I chose Norsk Lithium this year and I’m very happy I did. We have put these batteries to the test. I ran them 17 hours straight just to see what I could get out of them and they ran strong from start to finish. That’s one of the coolest things about lithium batteries. You know you don’t have that trickle-down effect like you do with lead acid where you know throughout the course of the day you’re losing power you have to give it a little bit more of a bump on your controller to get the same speed and before you know it you’re losing speed. These batteries run full and true right to the end. That is a great piece of mind when I’m out here on the water trying to give these guys the trip of their lifetime.
