I drained my Norsk Lithium marine battery down, and now it won’t accept a charge.
Asked by Dylan R. in Colorado
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerYou can either use our built-in wake-up function on our Norsk Lithium Evo-Tec chargers, or you can connect another battery of the same voltage with all connections removed, red to red, black to black to jump the battery. This will donate voltage from the second battery and bring up the voltage level for the charger to start a charging cycle. You can use another battery chemistry as long as the voltage is the same. Example: A 12V lead-acid marine battery can jump a 12V lithium marine battery.

Which Norsk Lithium starting battery should I get for my outboard motor?
Asked by Bryan S. in Delaware
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerTypically, we recommend if your motor is 250hp or bigger to get a Norsk Lithium 12V 180AH Heated Starting battery. If your motor is under 250hp, but you are going to be running a variety of electronics, we would also recommend a 12V 180AH Heated Starting battery. If your motor is below 250hp and you are not running your electronics using the starting battery, we would recommend the 12V 120AH Heated Starting battery.
**If you are running a Mercury Pro XS outboard that is 200hp or larger, we suggest getting a 12V 180AH Heated cranking battery. This outboard has a high-output alternator that can exceed the accepted amp draw of a 12V 120AH starting battery.

What is the difference between the Heated and Non-Heated versions of Norsk Lithium marine batteries?
Asked by Victoria H. in Mississippi
ODIN
TECH GOD!Official AnswerNorsk Lithium Heated batteries have internal heating pads that are installed between the cells to raise the internal temperature when charging below freezing. When you connect your charger and the battery temperature is under 32° Fahrenheit or 0° Celsius, your current will be diverted to the heating pads, increase the internal temperature of the battery to a safe level and then proceed with a charging cycle. If you are trying to charge in temperatures under 32° Fahrenheit or 0° Celsius, you will need a heated battery.
